Nir was born on October 19th, 1994, in Tiberias, the first son and grandson in his family. At the age of 13, he moved with his family to Hadassah Neurim and studied at Rupin High School. After graduating, he attended a pre-military preparatory school for social involvement in Israel.
A year later, Nir joined the army in the Nahal Corps, 932 Battalion. He became an officer and was discharged as a sergeant in 2018.
After his release, he took an extended trip to South America. Upon returning, he began an electrical engineering degree at Bar Ilan University. He started working as a student at Samsung, where he learned, developed skills, and enjoyed every moment.
In 2021, Nir met Naomi, his partner, whom he planned to marry and start a family with after the war. They lived together in Givatayim.
On the morning of October 7th, Nir was in the hospital with Naomi after she had a serious accident. Despite everything, he felt it was his duty to stand by his country. The values that guided Nir were Zionism, unity, brotherhood, modesty, and the defense of the homeland. For Nir, Israel was paramount. Even before receiving orders, he drove to the Gaza border to help protect his country.
A few days before his death, Nir told Naomi, “I want you to know that this is the peak of my life so far—defending my beloved country. I feel meaningful.”
Only two weeks before his death, Nir received final confirmation of his eligibility for his electrical engineering degree.
Some of his hobbies included camping, fishing, cooking and researching topics that interested him. He would wonder about something small and end up researching it for days until he understood it. Nir was the pillar of his family, always offering the best advice and wanting the best for everyone. He always put others before himself. Nir was a perfect son, brother, partner, and friend. It is a terrible loss for the world that he is no longer with us.
As he said, "I belong to Israel."
